Starting her career as a
dental assistant in 1982 she progressed through Harcum College for EFDA training
graduating in 1985. She practiced as an EFDA from 1985- 1998. Laurie continued to work
part time as an EFDA as she worked her way through a degree in hygiene.
During
Laurie's assisting years she was motivated to learn dental insurance
and interoffice communication skills which made her an invaluable
resource for the entire team. Laurie has a passion for
hygiene especially in the periodontal setting. Challenging cases, the
necessity
and desire to stay abreast of new data make for a fulfilling career.
With Laurie’s EFDA experience she understands the importance of patients returning to their general dentist for restorative exams and restorative care. You can be assured you will receive an update regarding your patient after every maintenance visit.
Laurie relishes completing her CE needs by learning more about the medically compromised patient and the systemic inflammatory response. Baby boomers and geriatric patients are entrenched in our practices. Understanding the inflammatory response is paramount for today’s hygienists. Laurie welcomes conversation and questions about our mutual patients and the ever growing need for a higher standard of care.
